Endless Summer Farms LLC

Endless Summer Farms LLC is in the aquaponics business.

Aquaponics is a food production system that combines two traditional food production systems - recirculating aquaculture and hydroponics. Aquaculture is the culture of fish. Hydroponics is the technique of growing of plants in water. Hydroponics is not a new technology, It is said that the pharaohs of Egypt enjoyed fruits and vegetables grown using hydroponics. One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, was believed to be a hydroponic system. When the water chemistry is tailored to the plant, hydroponics supplies the plant with everything that it needs, when it needs it. In aquaponic system, the water is constantly circulated between the fish and the plants. This eco-friendly and sustainable method of growing food is made possible by beneficial micro-organisms that convert ammonia excreted by the fish into beneficial nutrients (nitrates) for the plants. ln turn, the plants cleanse the water before being returned to the fish, Aquaponics is an efficient closed loop food production system. The major ecological benefits of aquaponics is that it uses 70 to 90 percent LESS water than conventional soil growing techniques and that fertilizer runoff does not escapes into our lakes, rivers and aquifers.
